New to Mir, or to Durga Puja?

Who is Mir?

Think of a much-loved radio presenter, TV comedy host and audiobook narrator rolled into one. For thirty years he has been one of the most familiar voices in Bengal, and his storytelling channel has more than 1.5 million subscribers.

What is Durga Puja?

Bengal’s biggest festival, celebrating the goddess Durga’s victory over evil. UNESCO lists Durga Puja in Kolkata as intangible cultural heritage. Expect colour, music, food, and a warm welcome from the whole community.

Do I need to speak Bengali?

No. The performance is a mix of Bengali, Hindi and English, and humour and music travel well. The dinner and the festival atmosphere need no translation.
