How SHAROD handles your personal information
Who we are
SHAROD (Swindon Holistic Association for Religious and Optimistic Development) is a charity registered in England and Wales, number 1213879. We are the data controller for the information described here.
You can reach us at in**@*******co.uk, or by post at 3 Dewpond Close, Swindon, SN5 4FS. SHAROD is run entirely by volunteers, and it is volunteers who handle these requests.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run our events and accept donations.
- When you donate: your name, email address, postal address and the amount you gave. If you make a Gift Aid declaration, we record that too.
- When you book an event: your name, email address, telephone number, how many places you have booked, and how many children are coming so the kitchen knows how much food to prepare.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the site: your IP address and basic technical information, through the cookies described below.
We do not ask for anything about your health, religion, ethnicity or political views, and please do not send it to us.
Card details
We never see or store your card number. Card payments are handled by our payment providers, who take the card details directly. Nothing about your card reaches us beyond confirmation that a payment succeeded.
Why we use it, and on what basis

Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other organisations for their own purposes.
We do use a number of suppliers to run the website and take payments. They act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Square and SumUp, for card payments
- Hostinger, who host the website
- Automattic, for website statistics
- CleanTalk, which filters spam from our forms
- Google, Cloudflare and Optimole, which deliver fonts, scripts and images to your browser
Some of these are based outside the UK, so your information may be transferred abroad. Where that happens it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
We will also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC when we claim Gift Aid.
How long we keep it

Cookies
Some cookies are needed for the site to work at all, such as remembering what is in your basket while you check out. Others help us understand how the site is used, or protect our forms from spam. Cookies are also set by the suppliers listed above when their scripts run on a page.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site, including booking and donating, may stop working if you block the essential ones.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- stop using it for a particular purpose, or restrict how we use it
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable form
You can withdraw consent at any time, and unsubscribe from anything we send you. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page. Where the change is significant we will say so.
